Only a fool like me make plans to go camp in the mountains just like that, and only Krista, my new best friend from America, is crazy enough to join in. Looking back, I think the mountains would have been quite boring without her. I also think I would have died. She knows how to read a map and she forced me to keep going when I wanted to give up.

“Sydney is a black hole swallowing people”.
After a lot of short time visits we ended up staying a while. One of Sydneys hottest beaches, Bondi, seemed like a good place to do so. We watched the waves from our window, walked barefoot to the beach and spent the days doing whatever we felt like.
First of all. I have to tell you about the boys. OMG, they looked good! I couldn’t believe it, so many good looking fellas in one single place. Anyways. There is other things to life than boys…
The first days in Sydney we moved from place to place in town, not knowing quite where to go.
We prepared ourselves for Kings Canyon in every way we could think of. We decided to take turns carrying the backpack containing 6 liters of water. We had learnt the lesson, and planned carefully to make the water last. We had bought hats, amazed how much that little piece of fabric helped against the sun.
The second day we got to test ourselves to the max. First was the sunrise overlooking Ayers Rock. I took 147 pictures in fear to miss the opportunity.
At the second mountain Kata Tjuta, also called The Olgas we walked for hours. I Remember worrying that the tour would be too easy.
At last! Our BIG adventure is taking a start. Surrounded by other travelers, ancient red rocks and the raw outback it’s hard not to get affected in a very special way. Hard to forget is also the heat (40 degrees and more). And the flies. They where on my head, in my mouth, in my eye,
To get into a car of strangers is a perfect way to be spontaneous. Starting and finishing in Melbourne a man called Ash took us to some worth-while stops along the Great ocean road. First time we ever saw real life surfers we were ecstatic. Ofcourse we stalked them all the way to the water!
First stroll through the city got us lost. As did all the times we went outside the door. Man we looked small then! We are bigger now. (Now, that I am writing this cuz it took me forever to get started.)
Melbourne is quite nice. We didn’t love it but we didn’t hate it. (We hated it.) I just think we missed all the places that’s cool because we were confused and didn’t know anything.
What are we doing here?
Why did we fly 21 hours to the other side of the world again? I don’t know! Lina doesn’t know either. She is my cousin and I convinced her to come with me. Im sorry… Hope she likes it!
I feel a bit of enormous panic about how to make this trip the best it can be.
